Oooh that was you! I hope you can get your sound card fixed soon, that much be such a pain. Maybe someday you can watch my stream and get the full ~* majesty *~ of my stupid whiny valley girl voice and horrible kpop playlist.
Actually... maybe it's better that you couldn't hear anything...
It sort of fixed itself? But not really, it goes from working to not working when my CPU heats up (so, when I use the graphics card, derp). I will probably have to find another computer next time.
It's funny you mention it because I was thinking recently that I wanted to find out more about Kpop. A lot of people I follow on Tumblr are fans and there are lots of karaoke places here in Dallas that play it too. I'm not really sure where to start though? X3
Oh man that is a crazy computer problem! Good to know that it... sort of... works... sometimes at least.
Re: where to start with kpop, there's multiple entry points depending on what genre your gravitate to already. It helps overall if you have an affinity for overproduced pop/dance already (Lady Gaga, LMFAO, etc) since that's in vogue with producers rn and is present to some extent in nearly everything. But there's rock, total 80s throwback synth, rap groups, r&b crooners, ballbuster girl groups, saccharine Taylor Swift fare, you name it.
I'd tentatively rec Big Bang, because the group is composed of five really different guys - As a group they lean toward generically boybandish, but when the members split up into solo projects or subgroups you get a good spread of rap, dance, r&b, pop ballads and cheesy weirdness. Look them up on YT, their team and solo/subgroup material combined means they have a pretty substantial back catalog, and that's not even counting collabs with other artists. They're basically the Kevin Bacon of kpop so even if you don't like them, you're likely to find something interesting through them.
I usually start the stream around 6-7 PST and end around 10-11 PST, so you don't have to check constantly, just in that window of time. I really should decide on a weekly schedule so I can say for sure which days I'm drawing on so people like you can know when to check...
